The Employee Self Service portal is a functional and easy to use solution for updating and improving intra-organizational communication.  The portal provides added value to an organization’s employees.  ESS makes HR activities more efficient by accessibilizing actions and information direct to the employee, without needing initiated actions on the part of human resources managers.

The portal is entered via internet and / or intranet, with a user name and password issued securely and personally to each employee.

ESS is first and foremost a user friendly online portal meant to allow employees view and  update personal details instantly and securely, without needing to wait or require further assistance.  The information can relate to a partner, changes to family status, the date a mother gives birth, change of address, bank account details and more.

In the next stage, employees can submit requests for vacation, travel or other reimbursements, and update the number of health, holiday or sick leave days accrued, and more.

HR managers can scan the requests easily and directly contact the employee once all necessary information is accessible.  When employees can easily and directly their own personal data, it contributes to a sense of independence and control over their activities while streamlining actions for the organization’s HR managers and payroll staff.

ESS also serves as a tool for improving intra-organizational communication and reducing the flow of personal email on issues not directly and obviously linked to the employee’s work.  When entering the ESS portal, for example, an employee can update on organizational notices, posted information, birthday and birth good wishes, and more.
